There is nothing wrong in American Pride! I do not feel americans are obligated to apologize for who we are. We do not need to accommodate other cultures to steak out miniature foreign nations within our borders. I believe America is rich in diversity and what makes us who we are is that we are Americans first. 
    I do not see other people by their race, color, religion or creed. I see them as American's with the best and brightest opportunity in the world. Those americans who came to our country and built this nation to what it is swore allegiance to this country and it's principles. They became americans and rejected their former way of society. They saw the opportunity to become what they could make of themselves. These same opportunities continue to exist because our country is based on the fundamentals of freedom.
    Of course we're not perfect. Our history has had many blemishes and violated our own principles. But these black spots in our history is no reason to abandon our principles nor become overwhelmed with guilt. To advance an individual group or culture to a higher status in apology would only lead to the same mistake and squash the rights of the others.
    Opponents of my view would call me racists, bigoted or prejudice. But what is prejudice? Allowing someone of a different color, race, religion, or creed higher or special status based on the color of their skin or gender. 
    Being half mexican/indian, I've been told, I could receive special benefits, money, and job positions if I claim my foreign heritage. I refuse! I am an American and proud of it. My neighbors who pay their taxes do not need to apologize to me for who they are and who I am. We are united under one flag. I reject anyone who tells me I am a victim of my American history!
    This is why there is nothing wrong with sticking to who we are as Americans. America was founded on principles and standards. Relieving ourselves of those standards because of mistakes in history or just for the sake of not hurting someones feelings will get us no where. Rather, it will force us to make those same mistakes and lead to oppressive chaos.
